Meagan was born with HLHS and was in the hospital, at doctors appointments or home bound a good percentage of her time.
She had her first heart transplant at 9 weeks, her second at 12 years old and then needed another at 16. She was always smiling, she always thought today was the best day ever, she never met a stranger, she loved kids, was a giver to a fault and was just an awesome kid to go through everything she did.
Meagan passed away on December 10th 2013 waiting on a third heart transplant at the age of 17. She was an amazing child, sister, best friend and just person actually. She had a heart of gold and all she wanted in her life was for all the people in her life to be happy.
When Meggie was sick or in the hospital she received many packages and mail. She was always thrilled to know someone cared enough to send her something and it made bad days brighter. We want to do the same for others.
We setup a Facebook page to honor her by giving to chronically ill children, and started by running 5ks and handing out wrist bands and wearing Team Meagan shirts.
By doing that we gained more followers and got many donations over time. From your support we have sent out over 2,000 packages and handed out over 2,000 seasonal and holiday care packages to the Ronald Mc Donald House. We also send monthly packages to children with CHD and their siblings.
